The national standard "Quality Control Methods for Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Spectrometer" has been officially released

In today's rapidly developing medical imaging technology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy are important tools for diagnosis and research, and their accuracy and reliability are crucial. In order to ensure the optimal performance of these precision instruments, the national standard GB/T 43688-2024 "Quality Control Methods for Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Spectrometer" was officially released and implemented on October 1, 2024. This standard is under the jurisdiction of TC487 (National Photoelectric Measurement Standardization Technical Committee), and the competent department is the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The main drafting units of the standard: China Academy of Metrology, Peking University Third Hospital, Shanghai Lianying Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Chinese Academy of Sciences Aerospace Information Innovation Institute, Guangdong Zhongliang Testing Co., Ltd., Peking University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Wandong Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing University, China Metrology University, Midea Group (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Beijing Printing College, Guangdong Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology, Shandong First Medical University.

This standard specifies the quality control methods for spectrometers and imaging devices based on magnetic resonance technology. These methods are mainly based on the principle of magnetic resonance, selecting basic physical parameters related to their measurement results as control objects, and providing calibration methods for these parameters.

The main technical content includes: terminology and definitions (proton density, relaxation time T1, relaxation time T2, apparent diffusion (dispersion) coefficient ADC, optical density, brightness), principles, calibration conditions, instruments and equipment, calibration steps, processing of calibration data, processing of direct results, processing of image results, and appendices.

The release of the "Quality Control Methods for Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Spectrometer" not only provides a scientific and standardized set of operating guidelines for medical institutions, but also lays a solid foundation for ensuring patient safety and improving diagnostic accuracy. The formulation of this standard reflects the high importance that the country attaches to medical quality, and also promotes the healthy development of the medical equipment industry.
