The force between the poles
There is an interaction force between the magnetic needles, just like the interaction between the magnetic needle and the large magnet of the earth, the magnetic poles of the same polarity (N to N or S to S) repel each other, and the magnetic poles of different polarities (N to S) mutual attraction. There is a magnetic field around the magnet object, and the interaction between the magnets is achieved through the magnetic field.
When a magnet is split in two, each piece is still a magnet, with two distinct poles.
